We often see the term “renovated” used to describe ANY change made to a home. It’s somewhat subjective and open for interpretation. In real estate, we see agents marketing a home as “totally renovated” but this can be unintentionally misleading since there are such varying degrees of investment one can make when tackling a renovation project.
To simplify things, we’ve established a few categories that further define the broader notion of a “renovated home”.
FACELIFT – A facelift project is a budget-friendly, cosmetic update to freshen up elements that may date your home. Fresh paint, removing wallpaper, and replacing dated lighting fixtures, hinges and door knobs can all enhance your home’s appearance and appeal. This is especially beneficial for clients getting ready to sell.
REMODEL – A remodel is slightly more involved, but can still be budget-friendly. Replacing worn carpet, upgrading flooring to tile or hardwoods, or adding built-in cabinetry are examples of the next level of improvements we offer. These custom additions add beauty and functionality to your space.
RENOVATION -The sky is the limit when you consider a full scale renovation. A home can be totally transformed when multiple interior improvements are made along with the addition or removal of walls to alter the home’s given floorplan. Careful thought and planning are required to reconfigure the living space to match the owner’s wants and needs but the results are stunning. These projects are for clients who plan to stay in their homes for the foreseeable future.
HANDYMAN/MAINTENANCE – Maintenance of a home is an on-going endeavor. You can extend the life of the main mechanicals with quarterly checkups and preventative maintenance. The daily use of other household features such as doors and drawers often need minor adjustments or repair from normal wear and tear. Exterior components like soffits and window trim are susceptible to damage from weather and wildlife and should be monitored and repaired regularly.
